Insert works in sheet metal, structural foam, fiberglass and some plastics. The axial knurl is first forced into the parent material and then upset over the backside to engage the knurl into the parent material providing very high resistance to spinning, the “bubble” of material over the backside provides very high pull-out loads. This feature provides exceptional torque strength and vibration resistance. The installation tool then continues to exert a torque load on the insert forming a backside flange even in multiple or variable thickness materials - WITHOUT ADJUSTMENT. GRIP-N-SERT TOOL INSTALLATION: l With tool handles in full open position, thread insert fully onto mandrel head side first. l Place into the hole in your parent material. l Squeeze tool handles together until the insert collapses. l Unscrew the mandrel puller knob.
