D14 D13 D12 D11 COBRA (Steel) The ultimate electrode for welding all types of steels, without any danger of cracking or breakage. Ideal for “Stud Pull” applications. An engineered deposit chemistry that has the perfect ratio of metallics to offer crack resistance far superior to any other brand. DIAMETER PART REC. It is also recommended for repairing worn parts and as an underlay for hardfacing. WELDING TECHNIQUES: The area in which the weld is to be made should be free of rust, grease, paint and other materials which cause weld contamination. A 90° vee joint should be used when joining heavy sections. Maintain a short arc length and use stringer beads. WELDING POSITIONS: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical up, Overhead RECOMMENDED CURRENT: DC reverse polarity (Electrode +) or AC TYPICAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES: Undiluted Weld Metal Maximum Value Up To Tensile strength as welded 128,000 psi (880 N/mm2) work hardened 186,000 psi (1280 N/mm2) Yield strength 90,000 psi (630 N/mm2) Elongation 32%, 36% 16 coatings Hardness Brinell 225 Universal all position mild steel electrode. Offering the convenience of flat, vertical up and down, and overhead without changing amperage setting. Electrode can be bent without flux breakage. APPLICATIONS: Versatile all around repair and fabrication of clean, well fitting common mild steel components. Fast freeze slag characteristics ensures fully positional operability. WELDING TECHNIQUES: Hold a short to medium arc length, lean electrode 45° towards the direction of travel. Use either the stringer or weave technique. WELDING POSITIONS: Flat, Vertical up, Vertical down, Horizontal, Overhead RECOMMENDED CURRENT: DC Straight (-), Reverse (+) or AC TYPICAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES: Undiluted Weld Metal Maximum Value Up To Tensile strength 83,000 psi (600 N/mm2) Yield strength 75,000 psi (540 N/mm2) Elongation 25% Excels on rusty, greasy, poor fitting joints in all positions. Ideally suited for difficult maintenance repairs. DIAMETER PART REC. Can bridge gaps as wide as 3/8 inch (9mm). Electrode can be bent without flux chipping. Slag can be welded over without removal. WELDING TECHNIQUES: Weld with a short-medium arc length at low amperage. When surface preparation is impractical, use a medium-long arc and favor high amperages. Multi-pass welds can be made without intermittent slag removal. Use any welding technique from stringer bead to wide weave. WELDING POSITIONS: Flat, Vertical up, Vertical down, Horizontal, Overhead RECOMMENDED CURRENT: DC reverse (+), Straight (-) or AC TYPICAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES: Undiluted Weld Metal Maximum Value Up To Tensile strength 88,000 psi (630 N/mm2) Yield strength 80,000 psi (570 N/mm2) Elongation 28% Can gouge, bevel or cut all metals including stainless steels, aluminums and copper. No oxygen required. Extra-low smoke. APPLICATIONS: Excellent for the removal of stainless steel joints and overlays. Designed specifically for small AC welding machines. Special coating elements form an electrically conductive “cup” for ease of restrike. WELDING TECHNIQUES: Hold electrode at a 10° angle above workpiece. Initiate arc and move forward in a straight or back and forth motion. For cutting use a “sawing action” technique. WELDING POSITIONS: Flat, Vertical up, Vertical down, Horizontal, Overhead RECOMMENDED CURRENT: DC Straight (-) or AC GOUGING RATES: Diameter Arc Time of Gouging 3/32 1.6 sec/in 1/8 1.2 sec/in 5/32 1.0 sec/in
