Our system is a true, heavy-duty system consisting of cable, cable cutters, strippers, copper connectors, installing tools, insulators and corrosion inhibitors. The system is totally color-coded– each cable size is color-matched to the proper connector and installing tool dies so you’ll always have the right connector, cable and die combination. Our unique cable stripper easily removes the cable insulation without damaging the cable strands, and our compression tool and closed barrel connector assure a solid homogeneous mass that provides an optimum electrical bond between connector and cable. Heavy wall heat shrink insulators assure watertight connections, and by applying Kopr-Shield* compound to the connection, you get the ultimate protection against corrosion. EASY INSTALLATION–THE COMPLETE SYSTEM 1. Match the COLOR-KEYED® cable and universal connector. 2. Cut and strip cable with proper Thomas & Betts tools. 3. Select the COLOR-KEYED® die that matches cable and connector. Insert die in tool. 4. Insert cable into barrel of connector and crimp connector between colored bands on barrel of connector, beginning with the band farthest from insulation. Make two crimps. 5. To protect connection, use two-inch length of heavy wall shrink tubing. 6.
